Aurora Ropes was an animated set design for the Ovation Awards — Los Angeles’ annual theatre awards ceremony. The set puts the usually hidden infrastructure of theatrical rigging on display creating a sense of narrative through rotating combinations of permeable “walls” and puppeteered moire animations. As art director I worked with artist Oliver Hess on conceptual & design development and organized the volunteer fabrication & construction workshops.
